Sam Phillips

Sam Phillips (born Leslie Ann Phillips January 28, 1962) is an American singer-songwriter and composer. She began her career in the contemporary Christian music industry but uncomfortable with that image and industry, she left it behind and rebranded herself as “Sam”, thus transitioning into the mainstream market after meeting producer T-Bone Burnett. She has released eight albums including the critically acclaimed Martinis and Bikinis in 1994. She has also composed scores for the television showsGilmore Girls and Bunheads. samphphillips5 In 2001, Phillips signed with Nonesuch Records and released a stripped-down acoustic album called Fan Dance, which featured some of the her most critically acclaimed songwriting. Phillips also began writing music for and scoring the television series Gilmore Girls, and appeared in the final episode of season six, performing “Taking Pictures” from her Fan Dance album. In 2004, she released A Boot and a Shoe, another collection of acoustic cabaret songs. After the release of A Boot and a Shoe, Phillips and husband/producer T-Bone Burnett divorced, although they continued to work together to finish her album. Her album, Don’t Do Anything, was self produced and released in 2008. samphillips2In October 2009, Phillips launched The Long Play, a music subscription service offering digital releases without a record label.   The first subscription only EP, Hypnotists in Paris, was recorded with the Section Quartet and a Christmas collection Cold Dark Night, Magic for Everyone, Old Tin Pan, and Days of the One Night Stands followed, with the full length album Cameras in the Sky being released in early 2010. In Spring of 2011 she issued Solid State, a public CD release comprising 13 of the best songs from her subscription service. samphillips4She is currently finishing work on her next album titled “Pretty Time Bomb” which she describes as being “A nostalgic sort of dream of being a pop star in the ‘60s and early ‘70s. It’s a sweet kind of album and I don’t know where it came from. I don’t know what compelled me to make it. It’s probably a bad idea, but everytime I listen to what I’ve done, it makes me really happy. So I figure, that must mean something and I should go ahead and put it out there.” In 2012, it was announced that she would be reunited with Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino by scoring music for the American TV show Bunheads.

Stephen Farrelly (born January 28, 1978) is an Irish professional wrestler and occasional actor, best known by his ring name Sheamus . He is currently signed with WWE. Prior to joining WWE, Farrelly was also a two-time International Heavyweight Champion during his tenure in Irish Whip Wrestling. He is a three-time World Champion, having held the WWE Championship on two occasions and World Heavyweight Champion once. He also won the King of the Ring in 2010 and the Royal Rumble in 2012, as well as the WWE United States Championship once. Afterwards, Sheamus would repeatedly hit Show with a steel chair. On the 24 December episode of Raw, Sheamus defeated Show in a non-title lumberjack match. Sheamus ended 2012 having wrestled the most TV/PPV matches that year with 98, the most TV/PPV wins with 77, and the most TV main events with 29. After being a frequent target of The Shield, Sheamus gained vengeance on the stable when he united with John Cena and Ryback to attack them.This culminated in a six-man tag team match on February 17 at Elimination Chamber, where the Shield emerged victorious. He had a small role in the 2006 Irish film, 3 Crosses,  and was a Celtic Warrior Zombie in the opening sequence of the 2009 movie Assault of Darkness opposite Vinnie Jones. It ended with Dustin and Sheamus having a “fight”, which Dustin won. He also appeared on The Podge and Rodge Show as a leprechaun wrestler, along with IWW alumnus George McFly.

Elijah Jordan Wood (born January 28, 1981) is an American actor. He made his film debut with a minor part in Back to the Future Part II (1989), then landed a succession of larger roles that made him a critically acclaimed child actor by age 9, being nominated for several Young Artist Awards. Shruti Haasan (born January 28, 1986) is an Indian actress, singer and music composer who works in the South Indian film industry and Bollywood. Her parents are noted actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika. As a child artist, she sang in films and appeared in a guest role, before making her adult acting debut in the 2009 action drama, Luck. She later went on to win critical acclaim for her role in the Walt Disney fantasy film, Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Oh My Friend and 7aam Arivu. In 2012, she starred in Gabbar Singh, Telugu remake of Dabangg which also was her first hit as an actress. She has also continued her stint in music through work as a singer in Indian languages, a career in music direction beginning with her father’s production Unnaipol Oruvan and her own music band and album. Shruti-at-balupu-firsShruti Haasan was next seen in Aishwarya Dhanush’s directorial debut , a romantic drama film co-starring Dhanush. Aishwarya revealed that she had written the script with Shruti Haasan in mind but date problems meant that the film began its shoot with Amala Paul instead. However in a turn of events, Shruti was re-signed to play the character of Janani, and the film gained much hype prior to release due to the collaboration of herself and Aishwarya, being the daughters of the two leading contemporary Tamil actors Kamal Haasanand Rajinikanth as did the success of the song Why This Kolaveri Di?. 220px-ShrutiinsidemusicThe film opened in March 2012 to positive reviews with a critic noting “Shruti Hassan has come a long way”,  though the film only garnered average returns at the box office. Her second release in 2012 was Harish Shankar’s Telugu film Gabbar Singh, a remake of the 2010 Hindi film Dabangg, with the version featuring her alongside Pawan Kalyan. Shruti had signed the film in November 2011 replacing Ileana D’Cruz who had opted out, and played the role of Bhagyalakshmi, a village girl, which had been essayed by Sonakshi Sinha in the original version. The film went on to become a large commercial success at the box office and created more film offers for the actress. shrutihassan4Critics also gave her performance a favourable verdict citing that she “justifies her role” and “though she didn’t have much of a role, she has left her mark”. Her next release in Telugu is Balupu with Ravi Teja. Shruti will be apart of upcoming Telugu movie “Yevadu” which has Ram Charan in the lead as well as Prabhu Deva’s new venture in hindi. The movie features producer Kumar Taurani’s son Girish.
